Coral Gardens
Coral Gardens is a peninsula, which juts out into the northern
Wilkes Passage off Namotu Island. Fish life is equal to that
found in the Red Sea. Heavy schools of giant barracuda, pairs
of Spanish mackerel, manta ray and hammerhead sharks roam freely
here.
Richard's
Canyons
Surrounding Namotu Island is a two square mile reef. Numerous
tunicates, crinoid and sea fans dot the diagonal canyons which
cut Nomotu Island fringe reef like the spokes of a vast wheel.
Offshore from the island the continental shelf deepens to 3000
feet and out of this shallow abyss swim manta ray, giant silver
jacks, enormous mackerel and tuna.
Namotu Cave
On the south side of the island in Wilkes Passage is an archway
and cave at a depth of 45 feet. Elegant gorgonian fans and zoanthid
colonies dot the entrance to the Cave. Offshore from the Cave
are deep, 80foot coral outcropping's through, which swim
schools of barracuda and Spanish mackerel.
The Pinnacle
This unique bombie stands 50 feet tall in 80 feet of water. It
is inhabited by a large moray eel and black coral tree. Another,
smaller grotto penetrates the Pinnacle 35 feet beneath the surface
and is full of clouds of chromis fish and soft pink and purple
coral.
Plantation Point.
This brilliantly coloured coral patch has a windward edge profusely
decorated with rugose and velvet leather corals mixed with tunicate
colonies and numbers of brain coral heads with Christmas tree
worms. Coral colonies extend from ten feet beneath the surface
to 60 feet.
The Japanese Cavern
Tavarua Island is to the south of Namotu and directly across
Malolo Passage. Beyond the waves of 'breaking cloud',
is an unusual cave at 55 feet below the surface. Inside are brilliant
pink soft corals and swaying gorgonian fans. Following the swim
through is a tour of the decorative Tavarua wall with sea whips,
tan lettuce leaf and sharp hilled brain corals.
Whale Shark Wall
This shear 200foot wall is named after a 40foot whale shark.
Porcelain coral, ornate clownfish, sea anemones, arrow crabs
and thousands of Christmas tree worms dot the seascape. There
are large numbers of regal slipper lobsters, cup corals and scrolled
filefish.
The 'Big
W' Caves
Named for the unusual 'W' shape formation in the
nine-mile long Malolo Barrier Reef, these unusual caves number
three and all are within 200 meters of each other. Found inside
the caves are multitudes of soft pink and purple coral lobsters
and fish that avoid bright sunlight. This is one of the most
unique night diving sites in the world.
Mamanuca Wall
This 150foot wall is indented with numerous canyons where sleeping
sharks abound in large but shallow caves. Tours in and out
of these byways can take 40-50 min but because of many serpentine
turns and twists, the diver rarely proceeds further than one
quarter of a mile from the dive boat.
The Megabombies
About two miles north of the Japanese Cavern on the edge of Viti
Levu Island's continental shelf are 30 or more thin bombies
narrowly separated from each other by 6-10 foot canyons through
which divers swim with limestone caves and unusually shaped overhead
archways.
Night Dive
Only a 10min boatride from Plantation lies Namotu, one of Fiji's
best night dive spots. Well known for it's aquatic life,
it gives our divers an insight of the underwater nightlife, from
the colourful soft coral to the different varieties of sea creatures.
Depth - 12-18m with visibility up to 20m. Qualifications-Advanced/Night

Shark Feeding Dive
One of it's kind!!! Only half an hour boat ride away, and

'Api' - Fiji’s
famous shark feeder - plays, hand feeds and even 'rides'
the sharks. An experience you won't forget.
